Chemical Peel

A chemical peel can be used to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve texture/tone, reduce pore size, increase hydration and moisture retention, give skin a smoother appearance and diminish hyper-pigmentation.

Based on your unique skin composition and needs, layers of product are applied. Depending on the type of peel our doctor advised for your skin type, one treatment session may be sufficient. 

However, sometimes multiple treatments are required in order to obtain optimal results. Where this is advised, treatments are usually spaced 2-6 weeks apart.

Treatment

Patients are offered a free comprehensive assessment with our doctor. A costed treatment plan will detail the number of sessions required to meet the stated goals. Included in the price are take-home skin products, after treatment support - and follow-up.

It is not uncommon to feel mild to moderate discomfort or pain and slight redness or swelling immediately after the treatment. After treatment, the skin can be more sensitive to the sun. We therefore recommend that high factor sun protection is applied at all times when exposed to sunlight.

Rarely, complications can occur:

• Pigment changes
• Scarring
• Allergic reaction
• Skin infection

The cost of treatment depends on the individual needs and starts at £325.

Treatment should be avoided if you:

• are pregnant or currently breast feeding
• suffer with Herpes Simplex (cold sores or fever blisters)(An anti-viral medication may be necessary prior to treatment)
• have had extensive sun exposure or sun-tanning within the last 3 days prior the treatment
• have used Roaccutane or Retinol products in the past 6 months
• are using topical retinol products in the past 2 weeks
• have had waxing of area to be treated in the past 7 days
• have had any other chemical peel within 14 days of the proposed treatment
• have an allergy to aspirin
